T-Mobile G1 Phone: Easily lookup cell phone numbers and contactsThe new G1 phone from T-Mobile is a great phone that has many cool features including the contacts list. The contact section on the T-Mobile/Google G1 is very easy to use and can hold hundreds if not thousands of contacts and cell phone numbers. If a cell phone can hold that many phone numbers it must be very intuitive to search and lookup cell phone numbers. Otherwise users will get frustrated with this aspect of the phone and thus may look for other alternatives. The G1 is the perfect example of how to build the capabilities along with the ease of use for the users. Once in the contacts section, all contacts are displayed in alphabetical order. To find a cell phone number or contact you simply scroll through the contacts from top to bottom. Since there could potentially be hundreds of contacts in the list the G1 has a “tag” on the scroll bar where you can scroll much faster when dragging this “tag” up or down. So for instance if you are in the “A” section up top and you want to go to a contact in the “T” section instead of scrolling through each contact you can drag the “tag” on the scroll bar to quickly pass by all of the contacts in between. Once you drill into a contact you can add email address, cell phone number, home phone number, work phone number, etc.
Not only can you quickly and easily search the contacts and lookup cell phone numbers in the G1 it also has a feature where you can import your contacts (including phone numbers) from your Gmail email account. This feature really makes it quick and easy to get all of your contacts into your new G1 phone.
Now you can see why the G1 phone has such a great contacts section. Not only can it hold so many cell phone numbers you can lookup the contacts very easily.
